The PhD Programme in Infection and Immunity is one of the 1+3 PhD Programmes in the Graduate School of Life Sciences.
The first year is assessed formally for the MPhil in Medical Sciences which is awarded at the end of the year on the basis of a number of assessment activities and the appointment of an External Examiner who presides over the final decisions on the award of this master degree.
Our aim is to provide exposure to a spectrum of laboratories and experimental approaches in the first year to allow the student to gain postgraduate level knowledge and technical experience across all of these areas, prior to selection of a major project to be undertaken in the next 3 years. Talented and motivated candidates who have, or are expecting to obtain by end of July 2010 a Master or equivalent degree in Life Sciences and Bioinformatics, are invited to submit their application by 31st January 2010.
The candidates can postulate for one to three specific projects. Each project is developed as a collaboration between researchers at the Fondazione Edmund Mach (FEM) and one of the other partner institutions.
