Durée: 3 ans
Description:
We are recruiting highly motivated PhD and post-doctoral fellows to work on
interdisciplinary projects, at the interface between cell biology and cell biophysics, to
understand how cells exhibit polarized behaviors in the context of cell migration, cell division
and cell growth.
The team 'Systems biology of cell polarity and cell division', headed by Matthieu Piel, is
located in the department of Subcellular structures and cell dynamics (UMR 144 Institut
Curie/CNRS, director: Bruno Goud). (more…)
Contract : CDD
Description :
A three year post-doc position is open from January 2010 to work in Prof. Franck Toledo’s group at Institut Curie in Paris, France. The group uses mouse models to study p53 regulation. The Inca-funded post-doc position is to work on a project based on in vitro observations indicating that the p53 mRNA interacts with the Mdm2 protein and that this may control Mdm2-dependent regulation of p53 synthesis and degradation (Candeias et al, Nat Cell Biol. 2008). The impact of p53 and Mdm2 mutations to study this aspect of p53 regulation will be analyzed in vivo in Prof. Franck Toledo’s group, whereas in vitro structural and biochemical studies will be carried out by collaborating groups. A postdoctoral position is available with Dr. Dominique Debanne at INSERM U641, Marseille, France (http://ifrjr.nord.univ-mrs.fr/-equipe-4,89-).
Applicants should have solid experience of in vitro electrophysiological recording techniques (patch-clamp) and, analysis of synaptic transmission and neuronal excitability. The successful applicant will combine multiple electrophysiological measurements, neuronal transfection, pharmacology and dynamic-clamp in brain slices to study the function and plasticity of hippocampal GABAergic networks in the context of epilepsy.
